An individual has passed away, and three others have been hospitalized after an altercation at an apartment in the city center.
The incident took place on Berkeley Street in the heart of Glasgow, where law enforcement has closed off the area for further investigation. Police responded to reports of a disturbance at the residence around 6:45 am today, followed by an ambulance being summoned just over 20 minutes later. The deceased male was pronounced dead at the scene under circumstances that are currently unexplained. Authorities have stated that the injuries sustained by the other three individuals are not life-threatening.
In a statement, Police Scotland disclosed, “At approximately 6:45 am on Friday, 5 December, we received a report of a disturbance at a property on Berkeley Street in Glasgow. Emergency services were dispatched, and a male was pronounced dead at the location.
“Three individuals were transported to a medical facility with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The cause of death is being investigated, and efforts are underway to determine the complete sequence of events. Police officers are present at the scene, and there is no perceived danger to the general public.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that four ambulances were sent to the scene. A representative from the service mentioned, “We were notified at 07:08 am about an incident on Berkeley Street, Glasgow.
“We dispatched four ambulances, a paramedic response unit (PRU), a special operations response unit (SORT), and a trauma team to the location. One patient was transferred to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, while two others were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
A cordon has been established outside a section of the Central Gurdwara Glasgow Sikh temple and the Glasgow Gaelic School, as reported by the Daily Record. The Central Gurdwara Glasgow had to close its doors due to the cordoned-off area obstructing access to the temple and its parking lot. The street closure remained in effect during the early afternoon hours.
