Passenger Arrested for Attempting Mid-Flight Plane Door Opening

Police apprehended a suspect for attempting to open an airplane door mid-flight. The Hong Kong authorities detained a passenger on a Cathay Pacific flight from Boston to Hong Kong. Fortunately, there were no injuries to passengers or crew, and the aircraft landed safely on Thursday morning.

The situation is now under the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong police. Cathay Pacific stated that their flight attendants promptly managed the incident, verified the door’s security, and reported the matter to the appropriate authorities and law enforcement.

The 20-year-old male passenger from mainland China was taken into custody by Hong Kong police on Thursday for allegedly breaching the Aviation Security Ordinance. The airline emphasized that they prioritize the safety of their passengers and crew in all operational decisions.
