A fortunate individual from Ireland has scooped a staggering £17 million in the latest EuroMillions draw held on Friday. The National Lottery in Ireland has verified that only one participant in the country held the winning ticket with the correct numbers, marking another stroke of luck for the Irish. This win follows a previous record EuroMillions jackpot claimed by an Irish ticket holder earlier this year.
The winning numbers drawn were 7, 25, 30, 37, 41, with the lucky stars 5 and 11. EuroMillions tickets, priced at £2.50 each, are purchasable until 7:30 pm on draw nights. Even if the jackpot is not won, substantial prizes are available for matching one or more numbers. Additionally, one lucky ticket holder is guaranteed to win £1,000,000 through the Millionaire Maker game, which automatically enters all ticket holders into the draw.
In a recent Tuesday draw, a single fortunate winner secured an astonishing £125 million. Seven ticket holders also clinched the second prize by matching all five main numbers along with a Life Ball, resulting in a split prize of £372,679, awarding each winner £74,535.80.
The largest EuroMillions win on record occurred in June when a lucky individual in Cork, Ireland, bagged a monumental €250 million (£215 million). A spokesperson from the National Lottery mentioned that the winner is being given time to comprehend the life-changing nature of the win.
The latest jackpot winner marks the 18th Irish person to claim the EuroMillions jackpot. Prior to this, the last Irish individual to win the EuroMillions was in February 2022, securing 30.9 million euros with a quick pick ticket from a service station in Ballina, Co Tipperary.
According to the National Lottery’s regulations, the EuroMillions Jackpot cannot exceed €250 million. If the jackpot reaches this cap, it will remain at that amount. Any prize money that would have pushed the jackpot beyond the cap will be distributed among lower prize categories in the same draw.
