A murder charge has been filed against a man in connection with the death of a 14-year-old boy who sustained injuries as an infant.
Lejunae Wood, aged 42 and residing in Wuppertal, Germany, was apprehended at Heathrow Airport on Thursday under suspicion of murder. Following his arrest, he was placed in police custody and has now been formally accused of the murder of Leajunne Wood.
The charge stems from an incident that occurred in Hayes in December 2007, where four-month-old Leajunne Wood suffered injuries. These injuries, initially considered life-altering, tragically led to Leajunne’s passing on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the age of 14.
Pathologist reports from 2023 indicated that Leajunne’s death was a result of complications arising from a severe head injury. Subsequently, the Metropolitan Police initiated a murder inquiry.
The family of Lajaunne has been notified of these developments and is receiving support from specialized officers. Lejunae Wood is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, December 6.
