A man was accused of attempting to push a baby in a stroller into a busy road in Ireland. The incident took place near Fána Búrca in Knocknacarra, Galway city, Ireland, around 1:25pm. According to reports, a young mother claimed that an unfamiliar man tried to push the stroller with her infant into oncoming traffic while she was out for a walk.
The mother stated that as she and the man crossed paths, he refused to yield and threatened her with an umbrella, hurling verbal abuse at her. She alleged that he then tried to direct the stroller, with her baby still inside, onto the road, lifting and shoving it as she tried to prevent it from entering the traffic lane.
Despite her desperate cries for help, passing cars did not stop, and a man walking his dog nearby ignored her pleas. The distressed mother described the alleged assailant as a tall Caucasian male in his 60s, dressed in a black raincoat, flat cap, and black sunglasses, carrying a long black umbrella and sporting a large, bushy grey and dark beard.
The mother contacted her own mother, who confronted the man near the walkway into Tor Buí. A brief heated exchange ensued, during which the mother identified the man’s UK accent, possibly Scottish or Northern Irish. The family is urging any witnesses to come forward and mentioned that a report has been filed with the Gardai. They are also seeking any dashcam footage from individuals in the area to aid in identifying the man or capturing the incident.
The Mirror has reached out to An Garda Síochána for a statement.
