When it comes to maintaining our health, sometimes we need extra assistance and guidance.

Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies throughout the UK catering to more than half a million customers weekly, is ready to provide support. They offer convenient access to prescriptions, a wide range of healthcare services, and the opportunity to consult with their expert pharmacists while doing your regular shopping.

For many individuals, finding time for crucial health check-ups amidst their hectic schedules can be challenging. Seeking answers to health concerns from online sources when time is limited can often add to the stress rather than offering peace of mind.

“This is why we provide prompt and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and a variety of health and wellness products in our pharmacies that customers can avail of while shopping in our stores,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and immunizations to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a comprehensive hub for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer essential reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

Moreover, pharmacists can save time by offering treatments for common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

Support is also available for long-term health issues.

“Our Tesco Pharmacists have received additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, raise awareness, and reduce the risks associated with cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “When at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist sporting a Let’s Talk badge.

“If you have concerns about your heart health, our pharmacy teams are prepared to conduct a quick, friendly blood pressure check on a walk-in basis – no hassle, no appointment needed,” notes Tom. “A brief visit to the store can either offer peace of mind or provide early assistance if necessary.”

Just this year, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers – a valuable service making a significant impact.

It’s not only customers who benefit from the services provided by in-store pharmacies.

“Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience of support through our pharmacies and other health services,” adds Tom.

“All employees have access to virtual GP consultations and additional assistance on areas like sleep therapy, nutrition, fitness, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
