Their latest Smart Hub 3 Wi-Fi router, soon to be available in UK households, offers improved connectivity and automatic identification of risky websites to alert users about potential online threats. It also has the capability to detect and block suspicious activities by hackers trying to access smart home devices like internet-connected cameras.
Users can keep track of identified threats through the Hub Threat Protect feature in the MyBT app, enhancing online security and preempting cyberattacks. In addition to security, the Smart Hub 3 emphasizes performance, supporting Complete Wi-Fi Plus to extend signal coverage and eliminate dead zones within homes.
While the Smart Hub 3 boasts a sleek and minimalistic design with a central BT logo, it is important to note that it supports Wi-Fi 6 rather than the newer Wi-Fi 7 standard seen in some competitor devices. Although Wi-Fi 7 offers faster speeds, lower latency, and improved reliability, Wi-Fi 6 is still highly capable for most households and a significant upgrade from older Wi-Fi standards.
