Three horses, Mr Vango, Top Of The Bill, and Quai De Bourbon, were injured during the Grand National race at Aintree near Liverpool. Mr Vango, who sustained an avulsion fracture in the neck after falling at the sixth fence, is currently hospitalized at Leahurst Equine Hospital. Trainer Sara Bradstock expressed hope for his full recovery, mentioning that he could be back next season pending a good CT scan result.
Top Of The Bill, owned by Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies, also fell during the race but has been reported to be in good condition, trotting up sound with a normal heart rate. Jockey Toby McCain-Mitchell received a suspension for not pulling up the horse when it fell behind. Additionally, Quai De Bourbon, trained by Willie Mullins, was evaluated after falling at the second fence and was set to return home after the race.
