Labour Launches Ad Campaign Exposing Farage as “Charlatan”

Date:

Nigel Farage faces accusations of deceit, being labeled a “charlatan” by Labour as they roll out a significant advertising campaign. According to Labour Party chair Anna Turley, the campaign aims to unveil Reform’s track record to voters and caution against the potential repercussions of Farage gaining influence.

In the midst of the local election fervor, Labour’s ad van initiative, titled ‘Not on your side,’ will spotlight Reform’s unfavorable history in Parliament and public statements. Notably, the campaign will reference instances where Mr. Farage and Reform MPs opposed the pivotal Employment Rights Bill, which was enacted in late 2025. This bill introduced various measures such as enhancing sick pay provisions and prohibiting contentious fire and rehire practices. Reform has promised to abolish this law and introduce new protective measures for renters through a proposed “great repeal act” should they come into power.

Additionally, Labour’s advertising drive will draw attention to Reform’s intentions to dismantle the Online Safety Act, which includes crucial safeguards for children online. The legislation mandates tech companies to implement age verification tools, regulate harmful algorithms, and eliminate inappropriate content.

Moreover, the campaign will criticize Reform for opposing the implementation of free school breakfast clubs in primary schools by voting against the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

Anna Turley emphasized, “Nigel Farage is a deceptive fraud. His Reform Party masquerades as champions of working people, yet consistently obstructs Labour’s essential reforms for a fairer Britain. Under a Reform Government, vital support for families nationwide would be jeopardized.”

She continued, “Today, Labour reveals the truth: no amount of staged photo opportunities in pubs can disguise Farage’s blatant attempts to deceive working-class individuals.”

The escalation of the local elections clash follows a recent grim forecast by experts, predicting that Labour could lose “well over” 1,000 councilors in the upcoming critical elections in May. Experts warned that this number could potentially rise to 2,000 if the party’s declining trend in vote share observed in recent council by-elections persists.

Reform UK has been approached for a response.
