In a heartwarming turn of events, Michelle, along with fellow campaigners Andrew Evans and Jason Evans, was honored with a Special Recognition Award at last year’s ceremony. During the event, while witnessing midwife Agnes Nisbett being presented with a cruise holiday prize from the awards’ new partner, P&O Cruises, Michelle and the other winners were in for a delightful surprise.

Determined to turn her anger and frustration into positive action, Michelle founded a support group for affected individuals, collaborated with the Hepatitis C Trust, and provided testimony at the official government inquiry. The prospect of a well-deserved holiday was a welcomed respite for Michelle and her husband, Dean, who had not traveled abroad since their marriage in 1984.
Their upcoming cruise to the Canary Islands, booked with P&O Cruises, held special significance as it coincided with their 40th wedding anniversary. The cruise line went above and beyond to make their experience unforgettable by arranging a surprise vow renewal ceremony, complete with flowers, photographs, and special meals.
Embarking on the Ventura cruise ship, Michelle, whose only prior sailing experience was as a child, was awestruck by the grandeur of the vessel.
