Formula One is expected to call off the upcoming Grand Prix races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia next month due to the ongoing conflict in the region. The Bahrain Grand Prix was scheduled for April 10-12 as the fourth race of the 2026 season, followed by the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah the following weekend. The decision to cancel both races comes as a result of the conflict involving Iran, the USA, and Israel, reducing the season’s race schedule from 24 to 22, as reported by Sky Sports.
Both Formula One (F1) and the FIA have yet to make official statements regarding the cancellations. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem mentioned on social media that they are closely monitoring the situation and prioritizing safety and well-being in their decision-making process.
With the races being called off, there will be no F1 action in April, creating a five-week gap between the Japanese Grand Prix and the Miami Grand Prix in early May. Currently, F1 is in Shanghai for the Chinese Grand Prix, with George Russell set to lead Saturday’s Sprint after his success in Melbourne, where he currently leads the driver standings.
Fans can enjoy live coverage of every F1 event with Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, which also offers access to around 100 TV channels, Netflix, and Discovery+.
