Canada’s head coach Cindy Tye has announced the squad for the upcoming under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland next month. The team comprises 21 players, including three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders, and five forwards, for the tournament scheduled from September 5 to 27.
Additionally, six alternates will accompany the team to Poland to assist in the preparations ahead of the World Cup kickoff. The players, coaches, and staff will assemble in Lublin, Poland, on August 23, before transitioning to their tournament base camp in Bielsko-Biala on August 30. A closed-door match against Spain is scheduled for August 31.
Canada, among the 24 participating nations, is placed in Group B and will commence their campaign against England on September 5, followed by a clash with Brazil on September 8. The group stage will conclude on September 11 with a match against Tanzania.
The Canadian team secured their spot in the U-20 World Cup during the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, where they clinched the regional title for the third time.
“We are proud of winning the CONCACAF championship, which boosted our confidence. However, we are well aware of the challenges that the World Cup will bring,” stated Tye in a press release. “We are looking forward to facing top-tier teams and urge our players to embrace the challenge, compete with confidence, and seize the opportunity to represent Canada on this global stage.”
The full roster for the tournament includes goalkeepers Noelle Henning, Madison London, and Khadijah Cisse; defenders Bridget Mutipula, Iba Oching, Janet Okeke, Stephanie Schoeley, and Chloe Taylor; midfielders Olivia Chisholm, Jadea Collin, Sienna Gibson, Jeneva Hernandez Gray, Teegan Melenhorst, Ines Nourani, Noelle Sather, and Liana Tarasco; and forwards Sariyah Bailey, Annabelle Chukwu, Kaylee Hunter, Lea Larouche, and Emma Yee. The alternates are Amy Medley, Victoria Rocci, Taegen Stewart, Emily Wong, Kierra Blundell, and Melisa Kekic.
