Irish artist CMAT has revealed the cancellation of her October tour due to an unexpected dental surgery. The 29-year-old, currently on her Euro-Country Tour, had a scheduled performance at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, but had to postpone the show.
In an Instagram post, the musician, Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, expressed her disappointment at having to remove an infected wisdom tooth, leading to the cancellation. She mentioned undergoing surgery to extract both lower wisdom teeth and prescribed antibiotics for the infection. The recovery period is estimated at two weeks, with additional time needed for full healing.
CMAT assured fans that efforts are underway to reschedule the dates, ensuring that tickets will remain valid for the new dates. She empathized with fans who had made travel arrangements, acknowledging the inconvenience caused. In light of her condition, she humorously requested ice cream and soup recommendations due to her inability to sing or eat solid food.
Despite the setback, CMAT remains determined to make it up to her fans in the near future after enduring significant pain and discomfort following the surgery. The artist, who graced the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this summer, is slated to perform at next year’s Coachella alongside headliners Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, and Karol G.
The upcoming Coachella event, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will span two weekends in April at Indio’s Empire Polo Club in the California desert. The festival lineup boasts renowned acts such as Iggy Pop, The Strokes, Teddy Swims, The XX, and Addison Rae.
