Luke Littler provided an update following his absence from the latest Players Championship event. The 18-year-old, who was set to compete at PC33 in Wigan, had to withdraw due to being stuck in traffic, missing the registration deadline. Instead, Littler opted to dine at a Chinese restaurant while his competitors, including Luke Humphries, took the stage.
Later, Littler explained the reason for his delay, citing a tragic road incident on the M6 in Wigan that resulted in a fatality. Despite missing PC33, Littler secured a spot in the upcoming Players Championship finals in Minehead after a remarkable performance in PC32, where he clinched a crucial victory against tough opponents.
Having recently claimed the World Grand Prix title and narrowly missing out on the European Championship, Littler’s determination and skill have solidified his position as a top-ranking darts player. Despite setbacks, Littler remains focused on his upcoming competitions and aims to continue his winning streak.
