The incident occurred on Thursday, September 18, prompting Metropolitan Police officers to respond to a report of an assault between two patients at the hospital. The victim, an 85-year-old man named Andrew Farmer from Ealing, succumbed to severe injuries on Thursday, September 25. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialized officers.
Subsequently, a 70-year-old man was apprehended shortly after the assault on-site. Reflecting on the tragic loss, Paul Wrigley, Andrew’s partner, shared, “My companion of 60 years, deeply missed after standing by me through thick and thin. A brilliant individual with a profound impact on everything he engaged with – be it opera, Devon topography, or aiding the underprivileged. Intellectual yet possessing a witty sense of humor. Rest peacefully, my dear friend.”
Detective Inspector Kirsten Hadleigh, spearheading the inquiry, expressed, “Our condolences are with Andrew’s family and friends during this undoubtedly challenging period. We are maintaining close communication with Andrew’s loved ones, providing them with regular updates on the investigation’s progress.”
