One individual has been fatally shot and another is in critical condition following a shooting incident on a university campus in the United States.
Kentucky State University in Frankfort is currently under lockdown due to reports of an “active aggressor.” The Frankfort Police Department has stated that the campus will remain on lockdown until further notice, with more information to be provided by the department and university as it becomes available.
Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky has called for prayers for those impacted by the incident. The university has assured its students that there is no ongoing threat to the campus community.
According to officials, the shooting occurred near Whitney M. Young Jr. Hall, resulting in one fatality and another individual being critically injured. The tragic incident took place at Young Hall on the south side of the campus.
Reports from WSMV indicate that one person has died and another is wounded following the shooting at Kentucky State University. The university, located in Frankfort, has an enrollment of over 2,200 students and employs 450 faculty and staff members.
Frankfort Assistant Chief of Police Scott Tracy confirmed that two individuals were harmed in the shooting incident, which occurred at Young Hall on the university campus.
