Jailed British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was captured in a photo outside Number 10, among a myriad of images disclosed from the Epstein files. The specific date of the photo remains undisclosed. Maxwell is presently serving a 20-year prison sentence in a US federal facility for her involvement in recruiting and preparing young girls for sexual exploitation by her late partner, American financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Maxwell was convicted in late 2021 and recently relocated from a low-security prison in Florida to a minimum-security camp in Texas following an interview with US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. Her legal representatives have contended that her trial and conviction were unjust.
Another photo from the Epstein files shows Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reclining among five individuals, with Maxwell standing beside them. In the undated image, Mountbatten-Windsor seems relaxed with his eyes closed, while Maxwell gazes down with a smile.
The faces of all individuals in the photo, except Maxwell and Mountbatten-Windsor, have been redacted in the document released on the US Department of Justice website. The files related to Jeffrey Epstein were made public on the site under the section titled “Epstein Library” around 9 pm on Friday.
Users accessing the site were placed in a queue for entry, with some encountering an error message indicating rejection of their queue number, prompting them to rejoin the line. A privacy notice on the Epstein Library emphasized efforts to redact personal details, especially those concerning victims and other private individuals, to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
The notice also highlighted the possibility of inadvertently including non-public personal data or sensitive content due to the extensive volume of information. In case of identifying any inappropriate information, the public was urged to report it promptly for corrective action.
