Police have initiated an inquiry following the sudden illness and subsequent death of an infant in the Rose Hill vicinity of Oxford. Responding to a call on Saturday morning, law enforcement officers swiftly transported the baby to a nearby hospital, where the child passed away a few hours later. Authorities have classified the tragic incident as unexplained but not suspicious.
As part of standard procedure for cases of unexpected or unexplained deaths, police visited the residence of the deceased baby. Witnesses observed a rapid response from officers, paramedics, and critical care vehicles at the scene, as per Oxford Mail reports.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police stated, “Thames Valley Police received a distress call from the Rose Hill area just before 9 am on Saturday regarding an unwell baby. Regrettably, despite being transported to the hospital, the baby did not survive. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family during this incredibly challenging period.”
At present, the authorities are treating the infant’s demise as unexplained, with no suspicions of foul play.
