Lando Norris experienced a heartbreaking moment at Zandvoort track when his McLaren’s engine failed while he was in pursuit of his Formula 1 title rival, Oscar Piastri. Max Verstappen capitalized on the situation, claiming second place at his home race, much to the delight of the local fans. Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar achieved his first podium finish in his short F1 career by converting his impressive qualifying performance into a strong result.
On the contrary, other top teams faced a tough day. George Russell secured fourth place, but Kimi Antonelli incurred penalties, squandering a chance to score points. Ferrari also had a disappointing outing, with Lewis Hamilton crashing out independently and Charles Leclerc being taken out by a Mercedes driver.

Further down the field, Hadjar held onto fourth place, fending off a challenge from Leclerc. Ferrari strategized but could not find a way past the Racing Bulls car. Hamilton’s race ended abruptly with a crash, leaving him with no points.
In a dramatic turn of events, Norris, closing in on Piastri, detected a strange smell in his car before smoke emerged from the McLaren, forcing him to retire due to an oil leak. Piastri secured maximum points, widening the gap in what has been a closely contested championship battle. Norris left Zandvoort empty-handed, facing a setback in his title pursuit.
