Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently married music industry executive Allison Hsu. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. Reports about the wedding in France first surfaced on TMZ.
Liu and Hsu publicly announced their engagement in May 2025 via social media during a trip to Paris, after officially dating since late 2022. They have shared updates on their relationship, including wedding-related events in Mexico and a visit to Paris, on their social media accounts.
In an interview with People magazine in 2023, Liu expressed his happiness in the relationship, highlighting the support and care they provide each other. Liu, who was born in China and raised in Toronto, is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.”
His portrayal of the Marvel character has propelled him to international fame, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience” where he played Jung Kim. Liu has also been involved in various projects, such as the film “Barbie,” voice roles in animated movies, and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” Additionally, he made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year.
