A massive fire erupted at a train station, prompting crews to swiftly respond and combat the flames. Video footage captures the signal cabin of Maam Cross train station in Co Galway, Ireland, fully ablaze as multiple fire teams strive to bring it under control.
The intense fire caused all the windows of the building to shatter, according to reports from Galway Beo. An eyewitness expressed sorrow, stating, “So I went to Maam Cross to photograph the train and this happened. What a terrible tragedy after all the great work by the organisers to get it going.” Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries, as mentioned by the Irish Mirror.
Maam Cross, situated at the intersection of the N59 and R336 roads, is the location of the Connemarra Railway, a heritage line. A statement on the Connemarra Railway’s website indicates that due to a significant incident involving the signal cabin, the railway will be closed on Saturday, December 13, and Sunday, December 14.
