A wealthy Russian builder has been apprehended following a tragic incident where a model sustained severe head injuries, necessitating urgent brain surgery.
Dmitry Kuzmin, aged 42, is facing charges of inflicting “grave bodily harm” on Anzhelika Tartanova, aged 33, after she attempted to end a six-month relationship with him, describing him as controlling and possessive. Tartanova’s relatives revealed that Kuzmin had prohibited her from meeting her 16-year-old son and sister before an alleged assault that left her on the brink of death.
Close acquaintances of Tartanova disclosed that Kuzmin would lavish her with presents, treating her like a possession while isolating her from her loved ones. It is alleged that the violence erupted after Tartanova expressed her desire to leave him.
Initially reported missing on November 28 by concerned friends, Tartanova was discovered on December 9 at a Moscow medical facility, where she spent a fortnight in intensive care and remains in critical condition.
Kuzmin stands accused of hurling her onto the street with severe head injuries before a passerby intervened and called for medical assistance. Allegedly, Kuzmin then sent messages to Tartanova’s friends for the following week from her phone, falsely reassuring them of her well-being. He was seen in court custody pending further inquiries.
Tartanova continues to fight for her life at Pirogov Hospital in Moscow, where she underwent emergency cranial neurosurgery. Although conscious, she struggles to communicate verbally.
For days, Tartanova lay in the Moscow hospital, battered, swollen, and drifting in and out of consciousness before managing to whisper her name to medical staff.
During the search for her, authorities discovered her diary, containing entries detailing her intense relationship with a boyfriend, where she portrayed herself as the epitome of beauty and sensuality, emphasizing her boyfriend’s dependence on her.
According to REN TV, Tartanova informed medical personnel that she was assaulted on November 23 by a man she was acquainted with in an apartment on Universitetsky Prospekt. She is recognized as an actress, model, and former owner of a tanning salon who recently relocated to Moscow following a divorce.
