Oasis band member Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs has disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis at the age of 60. He informed fans through a post on X that he will be absent from some parts of the ongoing Oasis tour to undergo cancer treatment.
In his statement on X, Bonehead shared, “Earlier this year, I received a prostate cancer diagnosis. Fortunately, my response to treatment has been positive, allowing me to participate in this remarkable tour. However, I now need to pause for planned care, leading to my absence from the upcoming performances in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.”
Expressing regret over missing the shows, Bonehead assured fans of his well-being and readiness to return for the South America leg in November. Oasis also conveyed their support, stating, “Wishing you all the best with your treatment Bonehead – we’ll see you back on stage in South America.” A source close to the band mentioned that while the band wanted Bonehead to continue the tour, Liam and Noel Gallagher prioritized his health.
Recognized for facilitating the reunion of Liam and Noel Gallagher, Bonehead played a pivotal role in the band’s successful comeback tour. During the tour, Noel Gallagher acknowledged Bonehead’s significance in bringing Oasis back together after nearly 16 years.
In a previous health update, Bonehead revealed battling tonsil cancer in April 2022 but shared positive news in September of the same year, stating, “I had a recent scan which showed clear results; it’s gone. Now, I am focusing on recovery and look forward to reconnecting with you all soon.”
In an amusing exchange with fans during the Oasis tour, Bonehead responded to a comment about the setlist with a simple “And???,” delighting supporters. Fans praised the setlist’s quality, with some suggesting the addition of the song “Columbia.”
