A spokesperson for GMP stated, “We are addressing an occurrence outside a synagogue on Middleton Road in Manchester. Police responded to a call at 9:31 am reporting a vehicle driving towards the public and a stabbing incident.” Subsequently, GMP declared a major incident at 9:37 am and police officers fired shots at 9:38 am, injuring the suspected offender.
“Paramedics arrived at 9:41 am to attend to four individuals with injuries from vehicular impact and stab wounds,” the statement continued. “As the police continue managing the situation, the public is advised to avoid the area.”
