A man was discovered deceased on a slip road following reports of an individual in distress on an M4 footbridge, prompting a swift response from South Wales Police near Junction 36 around 9:30 pm on Saturday. Upon arrival, officers located the body of a 24-year-old man on the adjacent slip road. Despite efforts by paramedics from South Wales Ambulance Service to revive him, the man was declared deceased.
The individual, hailing from Litchard, Bridgend, was identified by his family, who are currently being supported by specialized officers, as per a report by Wales Online. Emergency services briefly closed the motorway in both directions to manage the situation.
According to a spokesperson from South Wales Police, the authorities were alerted to the situation at the M4 footbridge near Junction 36 just before 9:30 pm on Saturday, December 6, following a distress call. The man’s body was discovered on the nearby slip road upon the arrival of emergency services.
Efforts to resuscitate the individual proved unsuccessful. The closure of the motorway in both directions facilitated the arrival of police and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) teams. The deceased, a 24-year-old from Litchard, Bridgend, has been identified by his family, who are currently receiving support.
