Families gathered at Trafalgar Square in London to celebrate Eid under sunny skies, coming together in a multicultural event arranged by Mayor Sadiq Khan. The festive atmosphere featured musical acts like Danish rapper Isam B, the London Arab Orchestra, and British musician Khaled Sadiq.

In his message broadcast to the diverse crowd, Mayor Khan emphasized inclusivity, stating, “All, regardless of faith, race, or background, are welcome,” marking the conclusion of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.

Attendees, donning vibrant attire, enjoyed the festivities in the iconic square near Nelson’s Column, which included food vendors, art displays, and a showcase by a Muslim girls’ fencing team. Deputy Mayor Debbie Weekes-Bernard denounced recent instances of Islamophobia at a rally, contrasting the spirit of unity at the Eid celebration.

The event aimed to bring people together to honor and celebrate London’s Muslim communities, countering divisive sentiments expressed at a previous rally held in the same location. Live music performances entertained the crowd, echoing the message of unity delivered by Mayor Khan through the event’s speakers.
