The latest fatal attack in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine occurred when a Russian strike hit a warehouse near Kyiv, resulting in the death of 38 individuals, as confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy via social media on Sunday. Four people remain unaccounted for following the strike, which took place on Friday night at an ammunition storage site, causing significant explosions and fires that spread to numerous nearby residences and structures.
Efforts are underway by emergency responders to extinguish fires, locate missing persons, and safely deal with any remaining explosive devices at the location in the village of Myla, according to Zelenskyy. The incident left 20 people injured, including two children.
Zelenskyy described the attack on Myla as a tragic event, attributing it to the dangerous placement of explosives in close proximity to civilian areas. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the storage of ammunition at that site.
Russia Announces Plans for ‘Massive Strikes’ on Ukraine’s Energy Sector
In response to Ukrainian actions targeting key sectors, Russia’s Defence Ministry announced its intention to launch substantial attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov promised a forceful reaction to what he labeled as Ukraine’s escalation and deliberate targeting of Russia’s civilian economy.
Ukraine’s offensive operations have recently targeted significant Russian entities, including the prominent online retailer Wildberries, over allegations of providing resources that aid the Kremlin’s military endeavors. Ukrainian drone strikes have also struck Russian oil refineries and other energy infrastructure, leading to a severe fuel shortage in a country renowned for its energy production.

Khmara, a former special forces officer now serving as a civilian minister, aims to secure additional support from international partners to bridge the financial gap and ensure operational continuity amidst mounting financial strain.
Khmara’s appointment followed a period of unrest triggered by the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov, culminating in a call for elections. His primary focus lies on preventing shortages on the battlefield, guaranteeing soldier compensation, and meeting essential military requirements.
