Two teenagers have been convicted of the brutal murder of a 15-year-old boy in broad daylight following a quarrel instigated by a TikTok video. Mohanad Goobe lost his life last September after being fatally stabbed during a violent incident in Moss Side, Manchester, on September 15, 2025. Referred to as Boy A (16) and Boy B (15) in court due to legal restrictions on their identities, both were found guilty of the murder, while another teenager, Boy C (14), was acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter.
During the trial at Bolton Crown Court, it was revealed that the altercation originated from discussions Mohanad had about a confrontation between two boys triggered by a TikTok video. The fatal incident unfolded on September 15, drawing over 20 individuals to the area of Moss Lane East and Monton Street.
Prosecutor Alex Leach KC presented CCTV footage to the jurors, depicting the moment Mohanad was assaulted, dragged down, kicked, and fatally stabbed in the chest. He succumbed to his injuries later that day in the hospital, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
The court learned that weeks prior, on August 25, Boy A had clashed with one of Mohanad’s friends following a dispute related to a TikTok video. After Mohanad’s friend was defeated in the altercation, plans for a rematch were set in motion. Mohanad mentioned his attendance at the rematch on Snapchat on August 30, along with discussions of a previous incident where Boy A, armed with a knife, had attacked Mohanad’s friend with others.
The escalating tensions were evident in conversations where Mohanad discussed the possession of knives and the preparedness to engage in violence. The court was informed that Boy A orchestrated a group chat involving Boys B and C, with discussions on a planned face-off after school on September 15.
As the confrontation drew closer, evidence emerged of Boy B attempting to acquire a knife for the altercation, indicating his involvement in the procurement of weapons. On the day of the incident, Boy A skipped school and rendezvoused with Boy B, who filmed two knives and sheaths, setting the stage for the tragic turn of events that led to Mohanad’s death.
Following a physical altercation between the groups at the junction of Monton Street, Boy A claimed self-defense, stating he was retaliating against an initial swing from Mohanad. The fatal stabbing occurred during the scuffle, leading to the tragic loss of Mohanad’s life.
The defendants, whose identities remain undisclosed due to legal reasons, are scheduled to be sentenced on May 21.
