“VP Vance Pushes for Comprehensive Iran Deal”

Date:

US Vice President JD Vance is determined to push for a comprehensive agreement with Iran rather than settling for a limited deal. Vance recently engaged in talks with Iranian representatives in Pakistan that lasted for 21 hours but concluded without reaching an agreement. Despite the existing mistrust between the two nations, Vance expressed optimism, stating that the Iranians demonstrated willingness to negotiate.

During a speech at a Turning Point USA event in Athens, Georgia, Vance commended President Trump’s resolute stance, emphasizing Trump’s preference for a significant diplomatic breakthrough rather than a superficial agreement. Trump’s vision entails ensuring that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons, ceases state-sponsored terrorism, and allows its citizens to prosper and integrate into the global economy.

Vance affirmed his commitment to continued negotiations in pursuit of this ambitious deal, stating, “We’re going to keep on negotiating and try to make it happen. So I’m gonna keep on fighting to make it happen.” Following Vance’s return, President Trump announced plans to intensify naval activities in response to Iran’s actions, including intercepting vessels that have interacted with Iran and neutralizing Iranian-laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The US also initiated a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz after the breakdown of peace talks.
