Amelia Dimoldenberg, the face behind the popular YouTube talk show “Chicken Shop Date,” has decided to bring her long-running series to a close after more than a decade of entertaining audiences with quirky interviews. In an emotional Instagram post, Dimoldenberg expressed gratitude for the support and joy her show has brought to viewers over the years.
Starting the show 12 years ago in Britain’s underground rap scene, Dimoldenberg has since expanded her guest list to include a variety of celebrities such as Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow, amassing nearly 3.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
“Chicken Shop Date” features Dimoldenberg engaging in casual and humorous conversations with celebrities at a fried chicken shop in London, offering a refreshing and informal take on traditional interviews. The show’s lighthearted banter often blurs the lines between professional and personal, leading to memorable moments like Andrew Garfield playfully flirting during his interview.
Among her numerous guests, Dimoldenberg has also hosted Canadians like Ryan Reynolds and Shania Twain, sparking amusing exchanges like Reynolds mistakenly referring to Blake Lively’s character on “Gossip Girl” as Brooke instead of Serena.
Despite the show’s success, Dimoldenberg has decided to explore new ventures beyond “Chicken Shop Date,” including developing a young adult drama series for the BBC. However, she has teased “a few final dates” before bidding farewell to the show for good, leaving fans eager to see what’s next in store from the talented host.
