“Tesco Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Solution”

Date:

When it comes to taking care of our well-being, there are times when we could use some extra guidance and assistance.

Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than 500,000 customers weekly, is dedicated to providing support. Whether you need to pick up prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, or consult with their expert pharmacists while doing your regular shopping, Tesco is there for you.

Managing essential health checks can be challenging amidst busy schedules. Seeking answers to health concerns from online sources when short on time often adds to the stress rather than providing reassurance.

Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness, explains, “This is why we offer convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and various health and wellness products in our pharmacies for our customers to access while shopping in-store.”

From flu vaccinations and other vaccines to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies are a go-to destination for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

Additionally, pharmacists can expedite the process by prescribing treatments for common ailments like sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For long-term health conditions, Tesco Pharmacists undergo specialized training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, and awareness about cancer, heart diseases, circulatory issues, and type 2 diabetes. Customers can identify these trained pharmacists by the Let’s Talk badge at the pharmacy counter.

“Our pharmacy teams are available for quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure checks for customers concerned about heart health. No appointments required, just a few minutes in-store for reassurance or early support,” states Tom.

Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 free blood pressure tests for customers this year alone, showcasing the significant impact of this service.

The benefits of in-store pharmacy services extend beyond customers to Tesco colleagues. “Our colleagues can also access the convenience of our pharmacies and other health services,” adds Tom.

“All employees have access to virtual GP consultations and additional support for sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
