One individual lost their life while two others sustained injuries in a collision involving a car and a transport truck on Highway 401 east of Gananoque on Wednesday night, as reported by the Ontario Provincial Police. The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m., and efforts were underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased individual. Fortunately, the two injured individuals are expected to recover, according to the police.
Initially, the highway was shut down in both directions following the collision, but gradually reopened over the hours that followed. By approximately 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, all lanes had been fully reopened to traffic.
