Teenage Girls Banned from UK Pubs After Hotel Chaos

Date:

Two intoxicated teenage girls have been prohibited from entering any pub, bar, or nightclub in the United Kingdom following an incident at a hotel reception. Kera McKeown and Larisa Sumovskaja, both aged 19, caused chaos at the Trouville Hotel in Bournemouth, Dorset, where they were not guests, by spitting at staff, throwing objects, and damaging property.

McKeown, the main instigator, was captured on camera wielding a vodka bottle and high heels, aggressively confronting the receptionist and causing havoc. She threw various items at the staff, including a fire extinguisher. Sumovskaja also engaged in destructive behavior by attempting to use the fire extinguisher in a misguided attempt at humor. Subsequently, both girls were sentenced by Poole magistrates, with District Judge Orla Austin condemning their disgraceful conduct and imposing a six-month ban from all pubs, bars, nightclubs, and hotels nationwide.

The incident unfolded on April 19 last year, with the girls exhibiting aggressive behavior towards the hotel staff, resulting in significant reputational and financial damage to the establishment. The court heard about the estimated costs incurred by the hotel for cleaning up the mess and compensating affected guests.

Both McKeown and Sumovskaja, from Bournemouth, admitted to criminal damage and affray. Their legal representatives highlighted their youth and mental health issues as contributing factors to their actions. The judge handed down suspended prison sentences to both girls and ordered them to pay compensation for the damages caused.

Sumovskaja received additional requirements for rehabilitation activities and mental health sessions. Judge Austin emphasized the severity of their actions and warned them against any future misconduct, underscoring the consequences of further trouble. A third individual involved in the incident received a conditional discharge and was instructed to pay costs for her minor role.

The court case highlighted the disturbing nature of the girls’ behavior and the impact it had on the hotel staff. The judge’s decision to suspend their prison sentences served as a final warning, emphasizing the need for them to avoid any further unlawful activities to evade imprisonment.
