Travelodge, a budget hotel chain, has updated its pet policy just in time for the upcoming peak travel season in May and summer. The hotel chain previously allowed pets in all of their hotels, including standard and SuperRooms, with a maximum of two domesticated cats or dogs per room. Initially, the pet fee was £20 per stay but has now been increased to £25 to cover the cost of additional cleaning after each stay.
A spokesperson from Travelodge stated that they are proud to be the sole budget hotel chain in the UK welcoming pets at all their 600+ hotels every day of the year. The increase in the pet fee by £5 across most hotels is to accommodate rising operational expenses and maintain the quality of service for guests traveling with their pets. The flat fee of £25 per pet for the entire stay aims to offer competitive and cost-effective accommodation for pet owners.
Customers traveling with pets can add them to their booking during payment. While pets are allowed in rooms, they are restricted from bar and restaurant areas. However, assistance dogs are always welcome at Travelodge hotels free of charge.
