When it comes to maintaining our well-being, sometimes we need extra guidance and assistance. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies across the UK catering to more than half a million customers weekly, offers a helping hand. Whether you need to pick up prescriptions, utilize their broad healthcare services, or consult with their knowledgeable pharmacists while doing your regular shopping, Tesco is there for you.
Balancing essential health check-ups with a hectic schedule can be a challenge for many individuals. Seeking answers to health concerns online when time is limited can often be more stressful than comforting. “This is why we provide convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and a range of health and wellness products in our pharmacies for customers to access while shopping,” says Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.
From flu vaccinations and various health services to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies offer a comprehensive solution for expert advice. “Just a brief in-store visit can offer crucial reassurance or the support our customers require,” notes Tom.
In addition to assistance for common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs, pharmacists can prescribe treatment through the NHS Pharmacy First service, saving you time by eliminating the need for a GP appointment.
For chronic health concerns, Tesco Pharmacists, trained by Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation, provide information, support, and preventive measures against cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes. “When shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and ask to speak with the pharmacist sporting a Let’s Talk badge,” suggests Tom.
Concerning heart health inquiries, the pharmacy teams offer quick and friendly walk-in blood pressure checks without the need for an appointment. “A brief store visit can offer peace of mind or early intervention if necessary,” Tom mentions.
This year, Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 free blood pressure tests for customers, demonstrating the significant impact of this valuable service.
The benefits of in-store pharmacy services extend beyond customers to Tesco colleagues. “Our employees can access virtual GP appointments and additional support for sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme,” Tom highlights.
