A vile child predator who coerced a teenage girl in the US into being his “sex servant” has been revealed as an international offender operating from his brother’s residence. Trevor Fernandes, 41, was sentenced to over a decade in prison in 2022 for grooming and exploiting a girl in the US, following a report by a 13-year-old victim in Garland, Texas, leading to his arrest by National Crime Agency officials in 2020.
Subsequent to his imprisonment, NCA investigators uncovered Fernandes’ extensive illicit activities, targeting 15 additional victims globally while based in his brother’s basement. Victims included teenagers from Canada, Norway, and the US, as well as girls in the UK. He managed a group on Kik, posing as a teenage boy to coerce young girls into sending explicit photos and videos. Those who resisted were subjected to degrading tasks like licking toilet seats and consuming their urine.
In a significant development, Fernandes confessed to 67 charges at Swindon Crown Court in November, resulting in a life sentence from His Hon Judge Townsend, with a minimum term of 13 years and eight months. Danielle Pownall, Senior Investigating Officer at the NCA, emphasized Fernandes’ dangerous nature, highlighting the bravery of the initial US victim for reporting the abuse, which led to the exposure of numerous victims worldwide.
Efforts by UK and US law enforcement, along with the Crown Prosecution Service, uncovered Fernandes’ extensive criminal network, showcasing the commitment to holding perpetrators of child exploitation accountable. The investigation revealed Fernandes’ disturbing online coercion tactics, leading to his imprisonment in August 2022 for 14 years, with additional restrictions.
Further scrutiny of seized devices unearthed more offenses against numerous victims, culminating in additional charges against Fernandes in September 2025. Jeanette Smith from the CPS’s Organized Child Sexual Abuse Unit condemned Fernandes’ actions, emphasizing the importance of seeking help in abusive online situations.
